1. INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Boora.
Boora is a platform that allows people to create, discover, and join nearby in-person activities and meetups in a spontaneous, casual way. Boora was created to facilitate real-world connections — it is not a dating app, nor a formal events platform.
By accessing or using Boora, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the app.
2. WHO CAN USE Boora
To use Boora, you declare that you:
- Are 18 years old or older;
- Are an individual (not a company);
- Have legal capacity to accept these Terms;
- Have not previously been banned from Boora;
- Do not have more than one active account;
- Use the app in compliance with the law.
If, at any time, you no longer meet these requirements, Boora may suspend or terminate your account.
3. WHAT Boora IS (AND WHAT IT IS NOT)
Boora:
✅ Facilitates informal in-person meetups
✅ Allows creating and joining activities on the map
✅ Encourages spontaneous connections
Boora is not:
❌ An official event organizer
❌ A payment intermediary
❌ A guarantee of compatibility between users
❌ A criminal/background check service
❌ Responsible for in-person meetups
Each user is fully responsible for their decisions, interactions, and meetups.
4. YOUR ACCOUNT AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
By using Boora, you agree to:
- Provide truthful information;
- Keep your information updated;
- Treat other users with respect;
- Use the app safely and responsibly;
- Protect your login credentials.
You may not:
- Impersonate someone else;
- Use Boora for illegal, commercial, or deceptive purposes;
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users;
- Request money, donations, or financial advantages;
- Use the app for paid romantic meetups, scams, or spam;
- Create or share inappropriate content.
5. PROHIBITED CONTENT
It is prohibited to publish or share content that:
- Is offensive, violent, pornographic, or discriminatory;
- Involves minors in an inappropriate way;
- Encourages illegal or dangerous activities;
- Is false, misleading, or defamatory;
- Has unauthorized commercial purposes;
- Violates third-party rights.
Boora may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice.
6. USER CONTENT
You are solely responsible for all content you publish on Boora (texts, images, activity descriptions, etc.).
By publishing content, you grant Boora a free license to use, display, and distribute such content within the platform, only for the app’s operation, promotion, and safety.
6.1. App screenshots (prints) in promotions
To promote Boora, we sometimes use screenshots (screen captures) of the app on our social media, website, and app store pages (App Store/Google Play).
In these screenshots, your profile photo and/or username may appear, if they are visible on the screen at the time the screenshot is taken.
If you don’t want that to happen, you can ask us to remove or replace the material, when possible.
Boora may moderate, remove, or limit content at any time.
7. MODERATION AND SAFETY
We use automated tools and human review to:
- Identify inappropriate content;
- Reduce scams, spam, and abuse;
- Keep the community safe.
Boora does not read private messages, except when there is a report or an automated risk signal.
If something seems wrong, report it directly in the app.
8. LOCATION
Boora uses your approximate location to show nearby activities.
- We never display your exact location;
- You can disable location in your device settings;
- Some features may not work without location.
9. IN-PERSON MEETUPS
Boora does not organize in-person meetups — it only connects people.
You acknowledge that:
- Meetups occur at your own risk;
- Boora does not guarantee users’ behavior, identity, or intentions;
- You should use common sense and follow safety recommendations.
10. ACCOUNT TERMINATION
You can delete your account at any time in the app.
Boora may suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these Terms;
- Put other users at risk;
- Misuse the app.
Account termination does not entitle you to a refund.
11. DISCLAIMER
Boora is provided “as is”.
We do not guarantee that:
- The app will be error-free;
- You will find activities or people;
- Meetups will be safe or successful.
Boora is not responsible for damages, losses, or conflicts arising from the use of the app or in-person meetups.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Boora will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
If any liability exists, it will be limited to the lowest amount permitted by applicable law.
13. CHANGES TO THE TERMS
We may update these Terms at any time.
When we do, the new version will be published with an updated date. Continued use of the app indicates acceptance of the changes.
14. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
